DailyFive Privacy Policy

You are required to agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy when you register to use the the DailyFive application (“the Application”) or simply use the Application. You agree that you will not make use of the Application in any way if you have not familiarised yourself with this Privacy Policy and do not agree to its terms. In the event you register to use the Application or make use of the Application in anyway, doing so will signify your agreement with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information DailyFive Collects from You

Hypertext Media Communications CC and Daily Publishing (Proprietary) Limited trading as DailyFive (“DailyFive”, “we”, “us”) may collect the following types of information from you when you use the Application:

Personal Information You Make Available to Us: We receive and store any personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) you furnish us with when you use the Application or provide to us in any other way. The types of Personal Information we collect may include your IP address, preferences, general location and any other Personal Information you may make available to us through the Application.

Information Collected Automatically: When you use the Application, DailyFive automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser or mobile platform, including your location, IP address, cookie information, browser information and the content you request through the Application.

Our servers create an anonymous and randomly generated alpha-numeric string (“the Hash”) for each installation of the Application. The Hash is not explicitly associated with your identity although it may enable us to identify your preferences, usage patterns, content preferences, how often you use and Application and when as well as similar data (“Use Data”). Use Data is similarly not explicitly associated with your identity although it may contain some Personal Information.

Third Party Social Services: Daily Five may integrate third party social services into the Application which enable you to share content you access through the Application with other people and services. Your use of those third party social services is governed by their privacy policies.

Sharing Your Personal Information

DailyFive shares your Personal Information and the Use Data in the following ways:

Agents: We employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your information with them to provide aspects of the Application with you. These agents are not permitted to use Personal Information or Use Data we share with them except where this use directly supports the Application’s functionality and the agents commit to safeguard your Personal Information at least as carefully as we do.

Advertisers: DailyFive discloses Use Data to our advertisers to enable them to present more relevant advertising through the Application. Where possible we aggregate and anonymise the Use Data but we may disclose limited Personal Information (such as geographical location) to our advertisers to enable them to better customise their advertising.

We may further collect, maintain, save, compile, share, disclose and commercialise the Personal Information and/or the Use Data subject when –

• the person from whom the Personal Information is collected, consents to this;

• doing so is necessary to protect DailyFive’s rights; and/or

• we are compelled to do so by law or appropriate legal authority.
